Things to do in Chicago: Fall Edition

Hey guys, so fall is finally here! I love fall because it's such a chill and comfy season. Now that summertime chi has ended I know y'all need some ideas on what to do so I'm going to give you all the deets!


Attend A Fall Event

There is so many festivals in Oct/Nov. To name a few:


  • Halloween at Brookfield Zoo - Various Dates

  • Tasting Tour in Wicker Park or River North - Various Dates

  • Comic Con - 10/11 - 10/13

  • Adult zoo night - 10/24

  • Womens Expo - 10/5 - 10/6

  • Halloween carnival - 10/25

  • Halloween Parade 10/31

  • Harvest & Campire Fest 10/12

  • Latern Fest - 11/9

  • Christmas Tree Lighting - 11/22

  • Mag Mile Lights Festival - 11/23

  • Thanksgiving Walk & Run - 11/28 - 11/30


Go Apple Picking

So you may not find a lot in Chicago but there is so many spots in the surrounding areas for you to have a good time. To name a few:

  • Plank Road Orchard

  • Heinz Orchard

  • Prairie Sky Orchard

Pumpkin Patch Time


I love the pumpkin patch its such a cute time to go. I remember as a kid we took trips to the pumpkin patch to play with horses and we also got to pick out pumpkins to later carve. Make it a cute lil date or go with friends. Here are a couple that's not too far:

  • Sonny Acre Farm

  • Odyssey Fun Farm

  • Goebbert's Pumpkin Farm & Garden Center

  • Country Line Orchard (Also has apple picking)


Throw a Halloween Party

In October there seems to be like a party every week so why not throw a fun Halloween party! It always a fun way to dress up, get drunk, and have fun.


Go to a Haunted House

I love going to haunted houses. I haven't been somewhere scary in a bit but I can't wait to see some spooky stuff this year. Some of my favs are:


  • Statesville

  • Six Flags Fright Fest

  • 13 Floors

  • Midnight Terror

  • HellsGate

  • Scream Scene

  • Basement of the Dead


DIY Time

I love DIY! Pinterest and Youtube have the best ideas. Spend some time crafting up decorations for the season or create your own costume from scratch.


Rent a Cabin


Grab a group of friends and plan a road trip away from the city. This is such a fun time you can spend with people you care about.


Watch Parties

Its so many shows and games on to grab all ya friends and have a watch party. Football ad baseball season has begun! Power is on! HTGAWM is on! The list goes on and on..


Start a New Habit

Buy a new book. Do a good deed. Learn to knit. If there is something you always wanted to do, do it!


Rewatch Your Favorite Scary Movie


Rewatch a classic scary movie or go to the movies to see a new one.


Plan That Christmas Shopping List

Listen, 2019 we said we was gonna stop procrastinating so get those gift ideas out now so you won't be running around Christmas Eve for gifts.


Attend a Theater Show

Attend a broadway or theater show! Chicago always has so many shows and you can always find a good discount on things.


Go Shopping For Comfy Sweaters

You can never have too many cute sweaters for this season! You never know with this Chicago weather when the temp will drop so stay prepared!


Brush Up On Your Baking Skills


I love sweets! Spend some time perfecting your favorite meal or a new meal of your own. With cooking you need patience, especially with baking so give it a try!
